Parents, Take Note! Children’s Orthodontics

Children’s Orthodontics: What Parents Need to Know

We cannot stress enough that children’s orthodontics is about far more than aesthetics. A poor bite makes it harder to clean the teeth properly, which can lead to further dental problems.

When is the right time to begin treatment?

While your child’s teeth and facial bones are still developing, any irregularities are easier to correct. If you feel your child may need orthodontic treatment, get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can help!

Children’s Orthodontics in Budapest

Why is FOXXI the right choice for your child?

Based on our international experience, we firmly believe that the secret to a child’s perfect set of teeth is starting orthodontic treatment in good time.

The first step in children’s orthodontics is a detailed consultation, during which we examine the child’s teeth, bite and oral structure. We then develop an individual treatment plan that gives you the chance to get to know each step of the process. A range of options is available in children’s orthodontics, such as traditional braces, ceramic braces, or even invisible aligners like the Invisalign system.

At Foxxi we work to the highest standards using the most advanced technology, helping children grow into adults with healthy, beautiful smiles.

The Children’s Orthodontic Process

Orthodontic treatment in childhood involves several steps:

  • Consultation and examination: The first step is a personal consultation, during which we assess the condition of the teeth, the jaw and the bite.
  • Diagnosis and planning: Based on the results of the examination, we establish a diagnosis and draw up the treatment plan. In this plan we determine what type of orthodontic appliance may be needed, and we also define the expected duration of treatment.
  • Choosing the appliance: Once the treatment plan is ready, we present the chosen orthodontic appliance to you and explain how it works. In most cases we use traditional fixed braces, known as a multiband appliance, or the Invisalign aligner system.
  • Fitting the appliance: After selecting the ideal orthodontic appliance, the next step is the professional fitting of the braces.
  • Regular check-ups: During orthodontic treatment — depending on the appliance chosen — regular check-ups and adjustments are required. These appointments help ensure the appliance is working correctly, and of course we are always happy to answer any questions that may arise along the way.
  • Completing treatment: Once we have reached the desired result, we remove the braces and, where necessary, fit retainers to hold the teeth in place, preserving their new position and preventing them from shifting back.
  • Follow-up examination: At the follow-up examination we check that the teeth have remained in the correct position.

The Best Types of Braces for Children

The type of braces we recommend for your child depends on their individual dental needs, aesthetic preferences and age:

  1. Traditional braces: These braces are made of metal components and need to be adjusted regularly. Because they are durable and effective, we often recommend them for children.
  2. Ceramic braces: Ceramic braces offer a more aesthetically pleasing option, as they are less visible. They are similar to traditional metal braces but are made from clear or tooth-coloured components.
  3. Invisible aligners (e.g. Invisalign): Aligners (invisible trays) are produced using digital planning and are virtually undetectable. They are especially popular among older children and teenagers who would rather not wear visible braces.

The Long-Term Benefits of Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontic treatment has a number of long-term benefits that are of great importance for both the teeth and overall health. Let’s take a look at what they are:

  • Healthier teeth and gums: Orthodontic treatment helps prevent tooth decay and gum inflammation, as it makes the teeth more accessible for proper cleaning.
  • Proper bite and chewing: Orthodontic treatment helps develop a correct bite, allowing for more efficient chewing and proper digestion of food. This improves the digestive process and helps avoid digestive problems.
  • An aesthetically pleasing smile: One of the natural results of orthodontic treatment is that the teeth line up beautifully alongside one another! Your smile will look wonderful!
  • Improved speech: Correctly positioned teeth help correct speech-related issues such as speech disorders or a lisp. In some cases we recommend involving a speech therapist to make the result lasting.

Our Children’s Orthodontic Prices – Fixed Quoted Price

Here too we are unique — we love innovation in every area!

When we calculate the cost of orthodontic treatment, we base it on two things: the time required for the treatment and the materials used. After the consultation we can already see what needs to be done, including the costs involved in your child’s orthodontic treatment and how long it will take.

Fixed quoted price:

Once the diagnosis has been established, we set a quoted price, which we treat as a fixed price and do not change during the course of treatment.

Instalment payment option:

After the initial costs, you have the option to pay the remaining amount in instalments with us, and if you would like to use your health card, you can do that here too.

Beautiful smiles to be proud of!
